Would 12 crow feathers in the yard mean anything other than a dead crow?

Asked by jca (36062points) June 29th, 2014

The other day, I found 12 crow feathers in the yard (8 feathers on the deck, 4 feathers on the grass below). Could this be indicative of anything other than a dead crow? I am thinking maybe a coyote ate it. I didn’t find any crow carcass around.

No. Those were offerings by the 12 apostles of Crow Jesus.

It means also, contented cat.

I would suspect an owl or other raptor had a nice meal over a coyote.

Yep, it means something ate Crow. lol

Could mean it was in a air fight with another bird above your house, it could mean a dead crow, or an old Indian curse, in anyway I wouldn’t worry about it.

@SQUEEKY2: Not worried at all, just curious.

Maybe the crows got into a fight about something.

Tonto attempted to break into your home but suffered a sneezing fit.

Perhaps it was two crows and they were engaged in croitus.

Obviously, you can expect a visit from William and Kate, but probably not until after the Prince’s coronation. Make ready! ;- D

Only an old Crowne would ask such a question. lolol ;-)

ibstubro's avatar

We have Crowt friends from Crowatia, and they think you should break out the crowquet set as soon as the crowcus’ crowk. Maybe they’re planning a visit, @jca? Still, leaving feathers in the yard seems kind of, I don’t know, Crow-Magnon?

What’s all the crowmmotion about. 13 feathers would have meant an impending heapin helpin of crow. 12 probably just means you had 12 Crumbers Crumbing, and there was a crow spat.
