What movie made you feel positive about life and optimistic?

Asked by dina_didi (1276points) July 5th, 2014

I want to watch a movie that will make me feel better, more confident and optimistic. What is your favourite movie that made you feel optimistic, that you can find happiness and achieve what you want to do?

Mr. Magorium’s Magic Emporium did it for me.
Also The Delivery Man and The Internship (both Vince Vaughn &/or Owen Wilson).
And The Book Thief.

@Dan_Lyons I was thinking of purchasing “The Book Thief” book. I didn’t know there was a movie too!

“The pursuit of happiness.”

Chestnut: Hero of Central Park

It’s touching and funny, in an innocent way. The main characters are two little girl and a dog (which is enough to demonstrate how light-hearted and innocent it is). It makes me feel positive for the relationship of animals and people.

I need no movie to feel that way, that shit comes natural, but a bloody fine comedy always makes my heart sing a little louder.

Stir Crazy
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
Monty Python…etc

@flip86, really, never touched by a movie? I have a hard time imagining that with so many films out there. I’ve got my mother and grandmother to thank for my love and appreciation of movies.

Dirty Dozen—> it showed how a bunch of misfits and ne’er-do-wells can coalesce into a working, motivated unit

The Great Escape—> Man’s strength and single mindedness

Casablanca—> the power and strength of character

Love Actually—> things, do eventually work out in most cases

@elbanditoroso If you liked the Great Escape, check out the Password is Courage sometime. I just watched it last month and I swear they copied the Great Escape directly off of this movie.

Forgive me but ITT:

A bunch of easily emotionally manipulated suckers.

I mean I’ve seen a couple of films that were supposed to make me want to suck Oliver Stone’s cock.

For some strange reason it didn’t happen.
