Could adrenal stimulation be more effective than pain receptor blockers?

I work in the pharmaceutical field, but this question is based on a more personal observation.

I have a small dog who has an unexplained neuropathy. He can no longer coordinate his front and back legs easily. He has to be carried up stairs and he has limited bowel control when excited or asleep. This has been his condition for about 4 years.

Today, I had a crew of roofers come to my house and the little dog (never had to worry about him going far) got so distressed that he slipped under the gate and ran over a mile from home.

Thankfully, he was rescued and returned to me.

I could explain his rush of energy to panic and adrenaline, however, the benefits continue. He “forgot” his affliction.

He can climb stairs and rush around like his old self!

So, I’m wondering. Could neuralgia be treated more effectively with adrenal stimulation? Has it been tried?
