Do feelings of the unknown pressurize your curiosity?

When surrounded by the unknown, do you delve into your personal hard-shell for protection from the un-characterized uncertainty?

I am trying to decipher what “delving into my personal hard-shell” even means, let alone what “uncharacterized uncertainly” is.

No, I’m actually driven by curiosity. It can get you in the weirdest, most interesting sometimes terrifying situations. Good times.

As they say, curiosity kills the cat…

In my many years on the planet, I have not developed a “hard-shell”. I am the soft-baked optimism of a world awash in blood-red fudge.

(and the last time I “pressurized my curiosity” it entailed an embarrassing trip to the ER)

Unholy Hunger, how cute. What do cookies eat?

@Blush is correct. I’d have missed out on many experiences & great people if I were close-minded.

@UnholyThirst: You my dear. You and your kind.

But then you knew that sister.

Amusing…(taps nails on counter, waiting)

KNOWITALL's avatar

@Unholythirst It’s unfortunate that nothing is being learned, sharing your expertise is kind of the point.

Very well then…

When I feel an urge to gain knowledge of something, I force myself into the middle of it. Recently, I wanted to know what it felt like to be unaccepted so, I joined Fluther.

Being unaccepted is the fun of it.

While I may be frightened of an experience which I do not comprehend, I do not hide away and attempt to cover the occurence with dilusion. I turn to logic to try and understand dat shit. I look for a solution, if I think that one is needed.
My shell is used, rather, to hide from that which I already understand, or at least, what I think I understand.
The platitudes and meaningless demands of a superficial society, for one. Seeing a ghost or a vampire would certainly break the monotony, if anything, haha.

@symbeline Exactly. Participating here may show them this is a more unique site full of odd creatures.

@gailcalled How about the word “pressurize”? What does that do to your curiosity?

I’M NOT SCARED OF YOU! I’m not scared of you. I didn’t build my shell, it was there from my beginning. It isn’t for protecting me. It is to protect others from the gooey, sticky sweetness inside me from being all over the place. I stay in my shell until that special someone really needs a taste.

M&Ms I don’t suppose can take much pressure. Many banded together on the other hand could.

When surrounded by the unknown, and it’s intriguing enough, it’s best to delve inside and uncover the secrets found within.

@UnholyHunger Try not to bite too hard, you just may cause yourself to crumble.

UnholyHunger's avatar

@Araphel: Certainly not on something so soft and weak as you, dear sister.

Araphel's avatar

@ Unholyhunger Try me and you will lose all your chips.

UnholyHunger's avatar

@Araphel: I would consider “try(ing)” you. I bet you’re delicious.
