What's a good book to learn about USSR and KGB tactics?

Asked by Questionsaboutstuff (265points) August 27th, 2014

Mainly in the cold war but their tactics to get what they want.

Also a book on MI5/6 CIA tactics would also be interesting.

Try any of the early books by tom Clancy. Yes, they are fiction, but he was a good researcher and known for his meticulous descriptions and high quality work.

I haven’t read these, but a quick search turned up this and this which look good. If you’re interested in political tactics rather than espionage tactics, I enjoyed “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” by John Perkins.
