Fluther's IM notifications for Windows Live?

Asked by chromaBYTE (652points) July 10th, 2008

In my profile, I notice you can set fluther notifications to come through your IM service of AIM or Yahoo Messenger. Anyone know anything about releasing this for Windows Live Messenger as well?

I don’t have Live Messenger, but from googling, it looks like you should be able to add an alert for an rss feed.

Try the following

you can go to this site to set up your alerts

For the record, IM notifications are currently turned off. But we do plan to resurrect them soonish, at which point we’ll also support a wide range of other protocols.

Stay tuned.

oh, i guess i misunderstood what you were trying to do. i figured the messenger just read rss feeds or something…nevermind.

@ccatron

Good point. You could use our RSS feeds to setup an alert through IM right now. That’s a neat idea.

But yes, we’re planning to roll out true IM integration in the future.
