Who or what determines what is shown on the Community Feed?

Asked by ibstubro (18804points) October 15th, 2014

I’ve noticed that someone can get 4–5 GA or GQ and the Community feed never shows it.

I’ve given a GQ, and noticed 5–10 minutes later that the Community Feed is still showing GA notices from 45 minutes ago, but not the 5 GQ award.

What gives?

I believe it’s a color algorithm that promotes green avatars to the top. The rest is random.

I’m testing that theory.

As of this post, @ibstubro, you are on top of the community feed with the “Davey Jones’ Revenge” 2 minutes ago.

I’m not visible on my Community feed anywhere, @Yetanotheruser. Your post shows it is 2 minutes old as of this post, and the Community Feed goes back 22 minutes.

The GA I gave @hominid never showed on mine, either.
