What can you do to move your life forward this year?

Asked by Haleth (18947points) November 1st, 2014

I’m talking about a real, substantial step forward.

Mine are all financial. I’m going to ask for a big raise and save up money to get my own place.

What can you do to get started?

For me, it will be about accepting that I may never find one person to be a partner again and to be content and whole with my friends and activities – which are very fulfilling. I have gotten started by not focusing too much on dating and enriching my life in many ways.

Get over anxiety issues. Without that everything else gets put on hold. Mind you I can’t see how I will put it under control. As we get older anxiety becomes more. I hope I manage somehow.

I’ve got to hire another person… I can’t do it all. I already have 6 people working on the technical issues but I need someone to take care of the nontechnical. Like: making a website, following up with potential customers, preparing the logo and items, attend and present a trade shows, take care of publicity, do the banking, get and organize the receipts from everyone, etc…
I… just… can’t… do… it…all.

That is why I hide here.

I’m turning 55 in Dec. Forward? Fuck forward, I just want to sit on the porch and rest these days. Not that I am not busy but sheesh, I resent this cultures obsessive push to remain productive until you are 107. haha

I could start exercising again. But that means going into the gym.

@dxs Right, and then that means going to taco bell after the gym, lol
I’ll just keep shoveling horse shit and lugging around bales of pine shavings and breaking up bales of hay and walking up and down hills endlessy for my workout. Pizza for dinner. I’ve earned it, so has my ass.haha

@Coloma I have every other part of nutrition down other than exercising. I eat very healthily and don’t even crave junkfood. Unfortunately the one missing link is that I can’t get over my fear of the gym.

@dxs Why do you need a gym. Can’t you run, walk, do push ups, situps, yoga, stretches, lift weight, dance, etc… all at home? You don’t need a uniform, it saves you money, you use your own bathroom and shower and you can tailor the exercise to match what your house needs: gardening, build a BBQ pit, cutting wood, etc.
You can do it!

Nothing, I’m good for now. Maybe not ordering out as much. Save money for courses.

Get rid of my “past”. There were so many incidents that reminded me of my past. People I couldn’t decide which my real feeling was, people who used my past relationship as a mean of “blackmailing”, some uncertain feeling… I want to let the past sleep and move on with life.
