* sigh * Another entertainment giant has passed away -- who wants to join me in bidding farewell to the Mike Nichols?

Mr. Nichols, co-founder of “Nichols and May,” the short-lived but hugely successful comedy team of the late ‘50s/early ‘60s which has epitomized smart, sophisticated comedy ever since, went on to become a legendary movie and stage director, producer and writer (and by the way, husband of Diane Sawyer). Thank you, Mom and Dad, for introducing me to them when I was 16!
