How to make facebook posts private?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) November 25th, 2014

I’m not talking about making your status update private.

Say you’re subscribed to a news channel on facebook and wish to make a comment on there. Is there a way to make it private so none of your friends can see it or customize it as least? I know the best way is not to post at all but sometimes you just got stuff to say.

As far as I know, there’s no way you can do it, at least to all of your friends at once. You can hide your statuses like you said, but you can’t hide your activities.

My suggestion: make another Facebook account secretly.

You can’t. Not if you are posting on a public page. I created a separate account that is not associated with my real name for this very reason. It also keeps the crazies from knowing your true identity. I’ve had some scary people send me messages after I’ve posted to a public page. I don’t want these people knowing my real name.

Public is public, there is no way. A News Channel is public.

@jonsblond FB will delete the account if it is bogus and they find out. Look at all the “Drag Queens” that have been ousted

^I’ve had the account for five years now. I think I’m safe. There is no way for FB to know the account is bogus because I didn’t use a name that read like a drag queen.
