OK, spill it, what great deal did you snag on Black Friday and who did you have to elbow out of the way to get it?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) November 29th, 2014

Black Friday is over, you can brag on your great deal and commend yourself on who you have to muscle out of the way to get it, or how early you had to camp out to make sure you had less people to muscle out of the way. What great deal did you get, that made you body check that pregnant woman or add your own victim out of the way to get?

How much consumer crap does one really need?
I can’t stand those large crowded stores and malls for a few bucks off,Black Friday is becoming a big deal here in Canada as well, and would rather face combat than those blood thirsty mobs.
So no deals, sat at home nursing my wounded shoulder.

I bought one of the last three Texas Instruments graphics color calculator for $160. Supervisor needed the key for the big purchase.

I only do virtual shopping on Black Friday. No pixels were harmed in my transactions and no shipping charges.

People who camp out in lines for hours or days totally mystify me.

I paid for a Savage B.Mag in .17WSM
It’s an experimemtal cartrige
only 8 more days until I can pick up.
I didn’t plan on spending that much, so now I can’t afford ammo.
I had my mind set on something else, but my mind went temporarily blank in there.

I didn’t leave my apartment on Black Friday or today for that matter. I didn’t really snag anything during the online sales that have been going on either. Though I did order some snow-related auto maintenance supplies off Amazon since it started snowing this morning.. happy holidays?

Here in NYC, there were people on the news who camped out for days for some sales. That, to me, is totally totally nuts.

Sales on Black Friday may be half price, and maybe with an additional coupon there’re more money off, but those sales will be running throughout the holiday shopping season. Stores like Macy’s run deals like that all the time. To spend Thanksgiving or the next day at a mall, dealing with crowds to get something that you can get for the whole next month is just insane.

I spent under $200 for $350+ worth of nutrition products/supplements and didn’t have to elbow through any crowds. Now we’re stocked up on protein powder, Quest bars, and preworkout for at least 3 months. Plus, free gifts/samples galore! Pretty sweet deal.

I’m proud to say there’s nothing I ever wanted badly enough or cared about saving a few bucks for to fight Black Friday crowds.

Also, I get supremely cross forcing myself through the crowd in the university cantine. There is no way I am putting myself through that sort of stress just to shop-

I didn’t shop. I’ll start shopping next week probably for Christmas. Actually, I want to get one Chanukah gift for my husband, we usually don’t bother, but I think I will this year. Chanukah starts a little before Xmas this year. I need to buy 5 Christmas gifts, that’s it. Maybe 3 if I do the usual and just give my niece and nephew money. I’m thinking I might give them money and a gift, not sure. I only know what gift I will buy for my FIL. Everyone else I need to figure out.

I also need to buy my MIL a birthday gift.

I’ve been wanting to get some new spillproof water bottles, so when I saw the email for 30% off and free shipping, I jumped online and ordered them. I also did my regular order from drugstore.com- to stock up on our health and beauty items, since they were an additional 15% off. Basically, I bought stuff I was going to buy anyway, and saved a few extra dollars.

The last time I went to one of these blasted things I was a child. Money was and is still a bad idea. Once I get over that, maybe I’ll consider getting on board with this.*Sarcasm.

I left the house to go on a beer run. I bought a 30 pk of Old Milwaukee for $15 including tax, but that’s the every day rate around here. I don’t do Black Friday.
