I did the Europe thing in 1999. Once I save the cash my next trip will be Japan/Australia/New Zealand.

My only concern is being on a plane for so long. SF to London was only 10 hours and that damn near killed me. Crossing the Pacific on a plane sounds like torture unless I had good pills.

@johnpowell do you have flying phobia?

I want to go to Germany and Austria during the December holiday season. Not this December holiday season, but one, one day.

Alaska on a cruise.

I want to take a cruise through the Panama Canal.

When I get the umph to fly more than 5 hours again I’d like to go to Spain and Banff. The last few years I haven’t felt like doing a long flight.

I’m more likely to wind up in Germany or Ireland for my husband in the next few years. Which is fine. I get to choose trips all the time, I don’t want it to sound like he is depriving me. He has longed to see Ireland for years and he wants to see the Porsche museum in Stuttgart.

@ZEPHYRA :: Huge flying phobia. Not really a fear of crashing but the recycled air kills me.

@johnpowell bring a face mask. When I flew to Japan the airline have everyone a face mask citing it was good to keep your nose and throat moist while sleeping, but my guess is it was a germ thing too knowing the Japanese. I used it without qualm. Many people on the flight did, some didn’t.

If you look at how many flights are in the air during the day the spread of disease is actually fairly low considering.

I’m a bit of a germaphobe also. I fly probably 4 round trips a year and sometimes am on trains longish distances, and can’t remember getting sick immediately after traveling in many years. I can only think of one cold about 10 years ago, and I can’t be sure I caught it on the plane. I often wind up flying during the height of flu and cold season.

I am cautious. I rarely read any of the magazines on board and if I do touch things I try my best not to touch my face and I wash my hands once I deplane.

I’d like to go

* to NYC with three friends who haven’t been

* to the most northern part of Sweden (snow, dog sleds, polar lights)

* to see the Austrian, German or Swiss mountains

…and most of all:

* to Korea, where I lived for a while when I was a kid.
