What age did you start shaving and were your parents fine with it?

For the girls: were you allowed to shave underarms and legs both starting at the same time? Were your parents fine with it? Did they even know when you started shaving bikini and how much if the hair down there you shaved off?
If you are a parent how old will your kids need to be before you let them shave?
What about boys? When they start to get facial hair are parents right there helping them shave no matter what age?
