Is there anything new re. Fluther's notifications in our email addresses?

Asked by flo (13313points) January 18th, 2015

Has Fluther stopped sending notifications for responses and if you’ve been added to someone’s “follow”,etc. I heard that. I can’t find out I forgot my password.

I need to check my emails.

Seems so. It has stopped sending me notifications since December 12.

I’ve stopped receiving notifications when I get PMs as well.

@Mimishu1995 Thank you.
@dappled_leaves Thank you, what date (around) did the notifications stop?
I went to check the blog to see if there is something about it there befpore I posted the Q.
I don’t mind not getting the ones for every response.
@dappled_leaves What do you mean by the ”...when I get PMs as well.” part?

dappled_leaves's avatar

@flo The only time I receive emails from Fluther is when I have a PM (personal message) from another jelly. I rarely have any activity in terms of “followers”. I think the last one I received was mid-December, though I don’t keep the emails, so I’m not sure exactly.

“What do you mean by the ”...when I get PMs as well.” part?”

The “as well” part meant, “as well as you” or “Me too!” :)

Ben thinks he may have fixed this. It seems to be working for me, based on a quick test.

@flo just stop following the questions.

I want to be active in the questions I just don’t need the notifications in my email, since I have the notification here in “Activity for You” anyway.

@flo I think you’re referring to the notifications that you receive by email when someone answers your question – is that so?

At the bottom of this page (I think it’s at the bottom of all pages), there’s a link to “My Account”. Click that. Under “Account settings” is a link for “Notifications”. If you click that, there’s a list of the types of notifications that Fluther is supposed to send you by email.

I think that un-checking “New Activity” will stop those notifications. I don’t think it applies to any other kind of “activity” on Fluther. And you can un-check “Followed by someone” if you don’t want those notifications, either.
