Why some of the awards aren't showing in my profile?

Asked by micchon (391points) January 27th, 2015

I noticed that some of the awards that I should have obtained already weren’t showing in my profile. I’ve tried logging out and logging in again but nothing happens. Why is that?

Ah! There was a problem with this site some time ago that prevented users from obtaining awards. It has been fixed now. Check your profile again. I’ve just followed you and now you received a Jelly-Friend.

And keep in mind that some of the awards here like the Skin Diver were intentionally broken down. You can’t get them in any way.

@Mimishu1995 I got skin diver 24 times? When did it “break”?

Mimishu1995's avatar

@Cruiser since the first day I joined I haven’t got any of it. And I come here everyday…

Yeah, many are broken, such as the ones for visiting x days in a row. Another broken one is Autobiographer, since they changed the way profiles look now.

The needle on my awards hasn’t moved in months—and it should have. Glad I couldn’t care less. ;-)

@Mimishu1995 The Skin Diver award was intentionally broken down?

I don’t think they were intentionally broken. I think no one has devoted the time to figure out why they’re no longer working. No new development and all that.

@dxs I just mean “they were broken for whatever reason other than the last bug”. My guess is that they were no longer needed and were broken. Well, it seems that I’m wrong.

@Mimi I believe they were broken because of some type of bug, but were never fixed because Fluther stopped developing. I could be wrong, though.

^^^ @dxs I remember a couple changes to awards after changing servers.
