Has anyone heard of PushPay? Is it secure and reliable enough?

Asked by 2davidc8 (10189points) February 10th, 2015

I’m setting up automatic bill payment with an organization, and they want me to use PushPay. I’ve never heard of it. I’ve heard of PayPal, but not PushPay. So, I’m wondering, is it secure enough? BBB is not listing any complaints against them.

Of course, any site can get hacked these days. But do you think their procedures are at least in accordance with current best practices?

Yes, I have used them. Yes, they seem safe (my transaction went through without hassle).

However, I generally use Popmoney, because Popmoney seems more versatile and you can send money to anyone, not just businesses.

@elbanditoroso I don’t have the choice to use Popmoney, it’s either PushPay or I have to remember to send them a check each month. Currently they debit my bank account directly by EFT, so it seems strange that they would want to go to PushPay because I think PushPay would probably take a cut of the transaction.
