What gender is your Siri?

Asked by CugelTheClueless (1539points) February 17th, 2015

The default gender for the voice of Apple Computer’s Siri (and, I presume, for similar features on other operating systems) is female. But it can be changed to male. What gender is the voice on your device?

Mine barely understands me… all that works is text/call mom… the rest is useless. It is a robotic lady.

I changed mine to have male British accent. He’s very serious and deliberate sounding, and I highly recommend him.

Mine was a really British one, I changed phones and now it seems like a local lady. My kids have endless fun saying NSFW things at theirs, some of the responses are very HAL like and just plain weird.

Thanks, all. I’ve decided to stick with the female voice, but I’m not sure why. Somebody could probably write an article for the Journal of Irreproducible Results on this topic.

Do girls say NSFW things to it as much as boys do?

Mine is female and calls me “Gracie.”
