Where can I get a copy of the game "Out of this World" from the makers of "Flashback"?

Asked by chadherrella (4points) July 15th, 2007 from iPhone

It is a dos game. It started with you swimming out of the water. Then avoiding green slugs, falling from the ceiling, by kicking or jumping over them.

Ok. First- learn to use a search engine. Typing in Out of this world DOS game download got a ton of hits...most of which appear to be what you want.

I don't see fluther as a replacement to search engines, instead its more of a resource when its something people would know. Like "whats hte best way to relieve poison ivy? or... I'm going to florida, what are some good hole in the wall restaurants?" generally questions that would be hard to ask search engines.

Anyway, here's a site for ya, use google next time.

did you ever think that i already tried using a search engine. Yes you get a ton of search results in a search engine.ITS A SEARCH engine!

Hey the button says ASK A QUESTION. I don't see no fine print that says only questions like poison ivy or where is a restaurant.

FYI you can google those questions too and they arent hard to ask

Next time you post an answer read the question first. I asked where I can get a copy of "out of this world". Your link is useless! Next time try out the link before you post obnoxious andarrogant messages.

I just signed up and I right away get a comment like yours!

I feel like I probably shouldn't give any input on this, but you may be overreacting a little bit there chad. Perchik was completely correct in passing judgement on your usage of Fluther. This website isn't created for other people to look up information for you - it's so that you can find answer's to questions that may be commonly known. A question asked a few before yours was "Does anyone know the name of this Window's Game?" This is a question that can be answered by someone using common knowledge. "Where can I download this game?" is a question that can be answered using a search engine, which as you've noted returns many results; it's then your job to wade through those results, not ours.

Similarly, if you had taken a second to explore the website he linked you to instead of rushing to flame his semi-helpful question, you would have noticed that he had incorrectly linked you to (I assume) a sequel to the game that you had wanted. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you would have found a section "People that downloaded Out Of This World - Another World also downloaded the following games:" which has a link to the original game, which is what you had, in fact, wanted. It appears they have that one to download, though you need to register and possibly go through some sort of sponsor before you can get it...I have no interest in doing that type of legwork for you. Here's the link.

I am aware the link I sent did not work. Please stop flaming me.

When you ask a question like this you might add "I have looked on google, but cannot find anything that works"

On demonoid there is a torrent of 150 DOS games, one of which is "Out of this world". However you have to download all 150 games and then get that one, as it's an .iso of a cd with 150 games. If you want to go through all that trouble I can link you to demonoid, and get you an invite link if you need one.

Please stop flaming on this question and on my profile.

For those still looking for this amazing game (one of my all time favorites), or Star Control 2 (another all time favorite), here ya go. I used DOSBox, and it was easy on OS X, supporting sound and everything perfectly (other platforms supported also). Love the classics.
