Is this a normal case of "food poisoning"?

I never had food poisoning before, I generally have an Iron Stomach, so this is all new to me. I’ll try to be brief:

-Mom and I got food poisoning from dinner. Oddly enough my Dad did not get infected but the other thing is he is taking antibiotics because he had an oral surgery. My assumption is then that it was a bacterial infection.

-Mom got diarrhea and stomach cramps and general malaise. No vomitting at all.

-I vomitted everything I ate from dinner, then got muscle aches and general malaise. No diarrhea.

-I was gradually getting better throughout the day but then I got a fever of 100.5 at night.

-Next morning (today) the fever went from 100.5 to 100.0, then 99, then finally 98.6. Muscle aches went away except for slight headache if I moved too much or got up too quickly.

-However, now that it’s night again, I suddenly felt hot. Guess what? I’m at 100.0 again. My back muscles also hurt – could it be that they’re just sore? I’ve been sitting and lying around a lot. I also feel weird in my throat. It’s not a sore throat but a sort of. . .heaviness? Possibly inflammation?

Is any of this alarming? Throughout my endeavour I’ve been alert. I haven’t been dizzy or coughing. Just vomitted, headaches, muscle aches and a fever. But now that the fever returned at night, I don’t know what to make of it. I don’t feel horrible at all at the moment – in fact I feel the best yet since it started. But it just worried me that the fever came back to exactly 100.0 and also my back muscles ache.
