When it comes to suicide, are those who use irrevocable methods more committed than those whose attempts can be thwarted?

There are about 6–8 common ways people usually commit suicide, like jumping from a bridge or other very high place, shooting themselves, hanging themselves, asphyxiation, etc. Some methods can be thwarted or reversed, such as trying to off yourself by way of a hose from the exhaust to the cabin of the car; someone can find you and yank the hose out and break the window letting air in of the door is locked. Same if you take a bunch of pills then down a bottle of wine or whisky, you can be discovered and saved before you expire. If you jump off a bridge, put a gun in your mouth and stove pipe your cranium, it is pretty much a done deal, and no one is going to be able to save you in the 11th hour. Those who use those irrevocable methods, do they seem to be more determined to die?

Some people really want to die.
Some people are crying for help.

Some people are just really crappy at trying to kill themselves.

I think it depends on the individual and the methods they have available to them.
If I were to do myself in I would want it to take on the first try, no attention seeking drama for me, ick, how distasteful and manipulative.
I don’t own guns, I don’t have access to prescription or street drugs, jumping would be too messy and traumatic for others, ( if I killed myself I would want it to be not messy and gruesome for whomever found me, a bloated corpse in a river or a broken skull on the rocks is not my thing haha )
Slitting my wrists and hanging would be out too, too gruesome.
I’d go for carbon monoxide, duct tape myself in the bathroom and light a Hibachi or BBQ.

Perfect, I could have a nice last meal and then just go to sleep after I do my makeup and find the perfect death dress. lol

Yes the method one uses shows that there is NO way of turning back.

Anything worth doing is worth doing it right?

I suppose if more foolproof methods are used then you are more dead..
