Why is Tsarnaev trial being shown differently through the media than Aaron Hernandez trial?

Asked by SquirrelEStuff (10007points) April 8th, 2015 from iPhone

I have not followed each trial closely, but see throughout the media, pictures and video of the Aaron Hernandez trial, and only drawings and no video of the Boston Bomber trial are being shown.
Why is the coverage and accessibility into the trials so different?

MA courts allow judges to ban cameras (and all recording) in court if they determine that there is “substantial likelihood of harm” to anyone in the court if recording is allowed link.

Also, Tsarnaev is in US federal court, not the Massachusetts state court.

That’s why he may be sentenced to death, even though Massachusetts has no death penalty.
