Did Bruce Jenner cheat in the 76 Olympics?

Asked by josie (30934points) June 15th, 2015

This question is inspired by a little lecture I recently got on a thread below this question.

According to this article Bruce Jenner knew he was woman in the 76 Olympics.

Therefore, it seems that he cheated, and used his inappropriately assigned male body to win fame and fortune.

After all, if he had used a woman’s body, it is likely he would not have been able to accomplish as much in the men’s field.

He wasn’t a woman, he just felt like one, so no, there was no cheating.
The only difference might have been if he had come out back then he might have made the box cover of Froot Loops instead of Wheaties. lol

Yes, he dipped for the line in the sprint & won by a rather erect nipple.

@Coloma
So, is he woman now?

augustlan's avatar

He didn’t have a female body at the time, so no.

@Coloma Not IMO, he is living as a women, has some new hardware but “he” is still not truly a “women” in the truest biological sense.

No more than Renee Richardsée_Richards did.

She is a woman now. Well, she was always a woman, but has a more female body now.

@augustlan I miss you!

If Bruce Jenner is a woman now, he (she) still has the DNA of a man, I believe.

Lord the things they had to go through to make her look like she did for that Vanity Fair photo shoot!

augustlan's avatar

@jca But Jenner’s body would have a lot less testosterone now, right? Plus, boobs. ;)

Miss you, too!

No. The Olympics are concerned with biological sex, not gender. These are importantly different, and Jenner has never claimed to be biologically female. She has only claimed to be a woman—which is a matter of gender, not genetics.
