What is a good place to get a co-op mortgage loan?

Asked by finkelitis (1907points) July 16th, 2007

Most banks offer mortgages for condos or houses only. I'm getting interested in a co-op.

I got a mortgage for my co-op from CitiMortgage - - which is a division of CitiBank. I don't know where you live, but they apparently do a large portion of the mortgages on apartments in manhattan (where I live), which are primarily co-ops.

And were there any hidden fees, or any trouble of that sort? Did you have a good experience with them?

I just called CitiMortgage, and they don't offer co-op mortgages in my state, unfortunately. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
