Will you share your best Obama moments?

Asked by Here2_4 (7152points) June 26th, 2015

On the recently posted question about Barack Obama’s sense of humor, I stumbled upon some cool bits I didn’t know of previously while searching what I did know.
Have you seen an amusing or touching moment during a speech or interview which must be shared?
Do you have any cool personal moments with our current president?
Please share whatever you have.

I know you’re asking about Barack, but this with Michelle, is a classic, IMO! What a lady!

I loved the trap that Obama set for Romney to walk into during their debate. Please proceed, Governor.

I remember at the prom that night Obama and me, we had a fight, but the band they played our favorite song and I held Obama in my arms so strong.

Oh theses are precious! @Dutchess_III , did you see what was next after the girlfriend bit? OMG! I was thinking how funny it would be if Luther translated for the real Obama sometime. I did not know he had! That was a riot.
@wildpotato , I just let your link keep running. There are a lot of real gems there.
@Dutchess_III I agree with you that FLOTUS also has some wonderful moments. Why don’t you start a partner to this thread, and gather some great Michelleabilia?

@Darth_Algar I had forgotten: Obama had black hair when he started the job!

His keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention pretty much convinced me that he would someday be president. He was the best speaker the Democrats had had in two generations. It was incredibly inspiring, especially after the 2000 election disaster. I began telling people I worked with that he would win the presidency someday. They laughed. No way was America ready to vote in a black president. Ah, they of little faith.

This ninja move is still my favourite.

Did you have security escort all the Republicans and the right-wingers out?

Here2_4's avatar

@Hypocrisy_Central , no, I made a polite request and hoped that would be enough.

I was at Grant Park on election night in 2008 for Obama’s victory speech. It was a beautiful. Such a relief.

I like to see him with kids. He’s very genuine.

Obama’s eulogy today at Senator Pinckney’s funeral today was beautiful.

My best Obama moment was when he was giving a speech in front of his peers, and he referred to Michelle and called her Michael. He said finally Michael and I can walk down the street holding hands, yep!! Maybe Joan Rivers was right, but did she have to die for spilling the beans, when there were already youtube videos with Obama calling Michelle, Michael!

YOUTUBE the speeches – it’ll knock your socks off!

Dutchess_III's avatar

The only video I find referring to a “Michael” is this one. He was referring to Admiral Michael Mullen, not his wife, Michelle, who probably wasn’t even there.
Also, those weren’t his “peers.” They were his subordinates.

Can you provide the video that shows where he said that “Michael and I can walk down the street…”?

Also, what is your point?

Obama spoke from the heart today when he was asked about the situation with Bill Cosby. He talked about his raping of these women, that it was a crime that could not be tolerated. I believe he has passed through this so far because he was the first Black man on TV who made people laugh and we all loved Bill cosby. To see that underneath he had so many demons that made him act evil towards so many women. I was comforted today with the Presidents remarks, he was sincere and truly spoke from his heart!

Hm. Well, Nipsy Russel comes to mind. Sammy Davis Junior. Wait! Dang it! Who played the transvestite on Laugh In? He had a boyfriend named…“Killa!” Who was that? I was laughing at him before I ever heard of Bill Cosby.

OMG…That’s Davy Jones, @Here2_4. Swoon.

FLIP WILSON! That’s who I’m thinking of. He was before Bill Cospy. Geraldine! With Jim Brown. Fullback for the Cleveland Browns from ‘57 to ‘65.

I loved Flip Wilson. I thought I would marry him when I grew up, and we could wear each other’s dresses, ha ha.
