Do any major retailers sell Vernor's ginger ale?

Asked by DrasticDreamer (23996points) July 5th, 2015

Other than Walmart? I’ve heard good things about this specific ginger ale, but the only place I can find it anywhere near me is Walmart and I would rather avoid shopping there at all costs.

Or if there’s another great ginger ale you’d recommend in its place, feel free to share.

@Judi Wow. I’m not sure I am willing to pay that much, but thanks for the link. If I can’t find it anywhere else, I’ll think about Amazon.

I always preferred Canada Dry to Vernor’s, except I haven’t had any CD since it was bought by the Texas-based Dr Pepper Snapple Group.

For all I know, buying something from Texass could be as bad as buying it from Walmart.

Is there a BevMo near you? They would probably have it. I wish I could remember where I bought it before. What state are you in?

I think it depends a lot on your location. In Michigan, most major retailers stock Vernor’s.

Here in Chicago I see it occasionally (though I’m not really looking hard, I don’t buy much soda).

It’s owned by Dr. Pepper/Snapple now.

Maybe your local grocery store can order it from their Dr. Pepper distributor.

You can get it in every grocery store in Indiana. It’s better than Canada Dry.

But in Kentucky they make Ale8 which is even better, but is almost impossible to find outside of Kentucky.

In Michigan it is sold all over.

I live in Oregon, so it’s pretty hard to find (except in Walmart, apparently). I’ve never had it before, I just kept hearing good things. I want really good ginger ale to use in a mixed drink, so that’s the one I wanted to try just because of how much people talk about it.

@Judi I don’t think so, no. I’ve never heard of BevMo.

How teetotalingly odd- they have Bevmos in CA and WA, but not OR.

@DrasticDreamer I tried it a couple if times and I remember not liking it very much. If that makes you feel any better. I don’t remember why I didn’t like it much. I do like ginger ale usually.

Until I read this question and the above replies, I had never heard of Vernor’s. Fred Meyer doesn’t carry it (at least locally). Next time I connect with the local Wal Mart I shall take a gander through the pop section to see if they have it.

When it comes to ginger ale, the only brand I have ever known, from childhood on, is Canada Dry.
