Would you love to see a Trump/Hilary debate?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46811points) July 14th, 2015

What do you think would happen?

Do you think Trump has any stereotypes / expectations of women, and if so, how would that play into the debate?

No, it would be appalling if he were nominated.

He has spoken kindly about his exes, and he seems to like women, but I have no idea if he respects them.

I doubt he would deviate from his usual campaign patter:

“She’s a nice lady; she’s a friend of mine actually; BUT…

Pick one:

If president, she would destroy the country.
She was the worst Secretary of State ever.
She’s a poor politician.
She couldn’t get healthcare passed in the nineties, therefore…

He would continue to throw red meat to the base. She would try unsuccessfully to keep him focused on one topic to express just ‘how’ he would accomplish some of his pie-in-the-sky ideas.

The event wouldn’t meet the definition of ‘debate’ anymore than most other presidential debates I’ve seen.

If Trump gets nominated, I bet it will be the first time a presidential debate will be censor beeped. And it will be heavily beeped.

Does anyone honestly think Trump has a snowball’s chance in Hell of getting the GOP nomination?

Dutchess_III's avatar

No. I was just imagining, pretending. Hilary would bury him.

Why not?
Two clowns on the same stage. For free.
Can’t wait.

Actually I would like to see this if we can get Bill Maher to be the moderator.

No. I think at this point it would be ridiculous to put Trump in with Hillary. A total waste of her time.

What I’d like to see Mr. Trump do is move to Mexico.

JLeslie's avatar

@Pachy He would really live like a King there.

elbanditoroso's avatar

No. I have no interest in seeing him ever.

Besides, he would be rude

ibstubro's avatar

I would not.
I would love to see Susana Martinez debate Martin O’Malley.

Trump’s a clown and Hillary, who was worn out trying to be SOS, now wants to up the ante?
She was replaced by the dynamo of John Kerry, 4 years her senior.

I don’t care what either of them say. Bernie Sanders, all the way!

I love Trump. I can’t think of any worse damage done to the Republican “Brand” in my lifetime when you consider the shifting demographics. I think he has done more damage than the Iraq war.

There will be no debate, with Trump and Mrs. Clinton, presidents are selected not elected! There will be another Bush for sure. If Jeb runs Jeb wins! He speaks spanish beautifully, and the Latino’s will ALL vote for him. His wife is from Mexico. Being president is a Blood-Line thing. Wake up. With Black Box voting, and no security on the back doors to voting machines…...get it, quit dreaming! No one wants Hillary as president, most people want her to retire and be a fun loving Grandma! Give it up Hillary, do us all a big favor! Why does she even want the job, it would kill her anyway, she looks so stressed and ragged right now, she is wasting her time! Very SAD!

JLeslie's avatar

^^Well, my Mexican SIL definitely won’t vote for Jeb. I doubt my husband will, but he will probably at least wait for the debates before he makes a final decision. Most of the Mexicans I know are Democrats.

@upyurts ” If Jeb runs Jeb wins! He speaks spanish beautifully, and the Latino’s will ALL vote for him. His wife is from Mexico.”

Because speaking Spanish and being, or being married to someone, from Mexico is all that matters to latino voters, right?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Gosh, yeah. It’s all that matters to the white voters too, and I know because I’m white, entender?

tinyfaery's avatar

Latinos are democrats for the most part.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Wow…even John Boner is coming out against Trump!

Cubans are the only Latin American group that I know of that have a very high percentage that vote Republican. Since FL is a swing state that is something to watch.

The Cubans don’t have immigration problems. They still are legal once their toe touches the sand on our shore. They have other concerns. Although, now that relations with Cuba are opening up who knows if asylum will remain in full force as it has. That’s another topic, but an interesting one.

If Hillary & The Donald tried to debate:
1) Hillary would consistently stay on topic;
2) his answers would be all over the map and would consistently lack real substance, and
3) whoever the moderator is, Trump would find at least one way to insult him (or her.)

For bonus fireworks, have Katie Couric & Ann Coulter moderate the debate.
