Are there headphones or earbuds comfortable to sleep in?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) August 15th, 2015

Or at least lay down. When I lay on my side, with my earbuds in, my ear starts to hurt. So I usually end up taking that one out. Are there ones that are designed for sleeping or laying down?

Hello, Have you ever tried a “pillow speaker”? It worked really great for me.

I have ear problems a lot of the time but i’m not sure it would be exactly healthy for anyone elses ears so a good idea would be a pillow speaker ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I’ve never had a problem with Koss Plugs as they are made a bit differently from most other earbuds. Instead of a silicone cap that has has severe limits on it’s squishiness, the Koss Plugs are soft, have no edge to catch on, and can fit in a smaller ear comfortably. The sound isolation is nice too, which leads to great sound quality for a $15 set of buds; they sound better than many that are five times the price.

I wear These They are really really comfortable, sound good in the daytime whilest keeping your ears warm, and can be pulled down over your eyes in case your spouse (ahem!) turns on the bathroom light in the middle of the night.

I’m active in my sleep, sleep walk and do all kinds of wacked stuff. My ears would be on the floor of my bedroom. Can you just have a radio on low?

They make bluetooth versions now too.

@majorrich How is the sound quality with those? Tinny at all?

I have very bad ears. Left one is at 20%. Right one is around 70%. I also need sound to sleep. Unless I am camping I need sound to sleep or I will wake up to my mom screaming for help and banging on my door seeking help. That is all in my head but it wakes me up a lot.

I have searched for comfy in ear sleep friendly headphones for years. I have probably spent over 1K dollars and have had no luck.

I have went with 25 dollar computer speakers right next to my bed. I can hear them and it doesn’t piss my roommates off.

The sleep phones sound surprisingly good. Ive been wearing them for a coupleof years now. While not like over the ear cans, they have sufficient bass for general use
