Have you heard that Exxon knew and warned about the impending?

So it turns out that Exon was at the forefront of cutting edge research on global warming and warned of the accumulating threat well in advance of the issue becoming a “hot” topic. Then the abrupt shift mid-80s

I read the article…so what is your exact question here?

I’m sorry about the abrupt stop at “impending” I really have trouble posting stuff from this phone. I suppose the question is “do you think the revelations will change any minds?”

@stanleybmanly I hate to fall back on the ol’ it won’t matter what I think as the big money is what is really conducting this climate change circus stance but IMO it is true. Any change in either direction should not come as a surprise. I believe it is orchestrated to the degree that as much money and profits befall both sides of the equation and will continue that way until we pump all our oil wells dry and then wind energy and solar energy will be the next big gold rush.

You mean the climate change/global warming argument is merely about who is going to make or lose money? That certainly is the take I get from conservative arguments.

@stanleybmanly My whole problem to this Global Warming and Climate Change is proponents of it simply point fingers at the source of the atmospheric pollution…coal companies, oil companies, refineries while ignoring the real source of the problem and that is us, people, consumers. There are many not so obvious sources of green house gases that are real wolves in sheeps clothing like ethanol production. Buying gas made from corn is a real feel good yet the carbon foot print to produce it is way higher than it is for a similar BTU of gasoline produced from oil. People want their beef burgers and the millions of cows we raise to get that beef fart non-stop….It has been estimated that live-stock related methane emission contributes about 20% of all the methane released into the atmosphere each year”

Yes, it is us the consumers insatiable demand for cheap gas and cheap electricity that is driving the atmospheric pollution and it is our disposable society that is forming the Great Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch

I will get behind the Climate Change movement that pushes policies and plans of actions that will implement the real changes we need to combat the environmental damages we as the human race are doing to Ma Nature and it starts with us changing how we think about how we are contributing to the problem to where we are then contributing to the solution by changing our habits as consumers of gas, electricity and plastics.

It’s also the demand for beef andilk & other foods. I agree that corn for fuel ethanol is a REALLY bad & stupid policy. But paramount to this whole discussion is that the planet is doomed with 8 billion people. All environmental problems are just population problems in disguise.
