if you have an iphone, then mobile me.

I’m no mac person, but my friend showed me what mobile me and an iphone do together and it’s pretty much worth it.

Is your mac going to be a replacement? If so, what is it going to be replacing? (ei: photo editing software, 3d software, music making software etc.)

Essentials: AppleCare Protection Plan, a keyliner to protect your screen from keyboard marking (and for cleaning), and a well padded laptop case.

Optional: Throw in a bluetooth Apple wireless keyboard, a wireless mighty mouse, and a good laptop stand if you’re feeling saucy.

And seconded on the Mobile Me.

@sndfreQ. I’d like to get one of those keyliners for my notebook. The only problem is that your link is dead. Do you think you could try and fix it or repost it?

Thanks

I also reccomend a laptop stand to make usage easier and help disapate the heat.

• Boost the RAM to at least 2GB
• An external HD (Western Digital MyBook is good) for Time Machine
• You can wait on Apple Care – you get one year of warranty and 90 days phone support out of the box

If you are going to work on a lot of word processing then add in iWork ‘08. (It’s always nice to have it pre- installed)

And also which MacBook are you getting. Just out of curiosity.
If you do a lot with web development then go with Adobe CS3. I second the laptop stand and wireless keyboard/mouse. You don’t really need but it’s good to have around instead of the laptop one. just incase

Get a warranty. Just do it now so you don’t regret it later.
