Can I get standard definition input from an HDMI output?

I have a standard-definition CRT television. It’s currently hooked up to a Wii so we can Netflix, but there are other things I’d like to watch. We’ll call them Legally Acquired Videos.
My laptop has an HDMI output.
My tv has an RCA input.
Can I put the two together without blowing anything up or starting the Zombie Apocalypse?
