Greatest Movies of all-time?

Asked by aaronou (735points) July 22nd, 2008

I’m sure something like this has been done before, but I like lists. Let’s go with top 3 greatest movies (though I know some of you will probably have to add a few more). I’m sick now, so perhaps I will have to go rent some of your suggestions.

I think I must answer my own question.
1. Dead Poet’s Society
2. American History X
3. The War – with Kevin Costner and Elijah Wood

I’m not saying these are all-time greats in the artistry of movie-making, but they are some of my favorites:
Dirty Dancing
Breakfast Club
St. Elmo’s Fire
Top Gun
White Christmas
High Society
...I could go on, but I’ll leave it at that.

I don’t think I know St. Elmo’s Fire or High Society. I’ll have to look em up.
