I think I'm having a panic attack?

Asked by blueberry_kid (5957points) November 12th, 2015

So, I’m really upset.

Long story short, I didn’t do as well as I wanted on the last ACT I took, and so thinking that I would do pretty well, I decided to send those scores in to the colleges I’m applying to, but they’re really bad.

If the school Super Scores all of my best scores from my other tests, do I have to send them another report or do they do it themselves?

I think the school only gets the report you release to them? You’ll have to double check me. I know a school can’t just look up your scores, but what I’m not sure of is if you can specify only one test on a specific date (I think so) or if once you let a school know your ACT scores, if all of the scores are released. That’s what you need to find out.

Call whomever releases scores and talk to someone so you can get your questions answered.

You already notified the school you were taking the test again? Is that right?

A. define “bad”
B. you can take it again
C. if it is out of your control you’re anxiety is unwarranted.

My advice is this: If you are just getting out of high school and are trying to get into college because it’s the next logical step I assure you it’s not. When you already know what you want to do, know you are good at it and understand what your job prospects will be when you graduate it will be time. If that’s not you then your job is to find out where your talents and interests intersect. A good place to do that is at community college where you can take random vocational type classes alongside traditional academic courses. I would also talk with people who work in the field you are interested in and get their take on if it is a good idea or not. Information is what you need to make the best decisions. I also need to mention that by going this route your ACT score does not matter and it will save you money.

Don’t freak too much. Colleges understand that some people don’t test well, and if you give them other information, they might not give your ACT’s the weight you worry they will.
