Does anybody here actually believe John Edward?

Asked by xxporkxsodaxx (1396points) July 23rd, 2008

Alright so I was talking to my mom and she told me about John Edward like he was the coolest thing since sliced bread. This was a while ago and this episode of South Park reminded me to ask the collective, but seriously, does anyone really think that he can talk to the dead?

I do not. I have watched him do several sessions, and he asks leading questions after seeding with a tiny bit of information. Then he will go on quickly if he has a miss. I do not think he is a legitimate medium.

I’m in total agreement with Marina. He’s got a talent, definitely, but it is not contacting the dead.

no, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was attacked by a tiger sometime in his lifetime.

marina- does a legitimate medium exist?

I don’t know. While the TV show is not realistic, the real Allison DuBois is an interesting case. Being a medium would really be a curse not a blessing if there were legitimate ones.

marina- she just seems overly empathetic, possibly delusional. She does have a nice apartment.

That John Edwards full of crap man. (in Jim Carey’s voice from Dumb and Dumber)

Uh… I highly doubt there is any such thing as a legitimate medium. They’re just manipulating people for money in a more obvious way that most of the rest of the world does it.

He’s the worst sort of hack. Not only does he take advantage of people, he does so based on an incredibly sensative and emotional subject.
