Care to join me in mourning the death of Douglas Tompkins, 72, conervationist founder of North Face and Espirit clothing companies?

Would that I could preserve 2.2 million acres of land, much of it rain forest.

I think Buffet and Gates should concentrate on saving the planet. Humans will live and die, our planet is our host.

Actually, I never heard of him but R.I.P. Doug.
I did, many moons ago, before I fell in love with geese, have numerous North Face, down ski jackets. Now the synthetics are just as warm and no geese are sacrificed.

He died living his dream. What more can you ask for?

I hadn’t heard of him until yesterday when I saw his obit in the NY Times. Have not yet read it but will look at it later. I also have no North Face clothes, but I heard they’re great, made well, etc.

The world needs more people who care about the planet and who are also able to do something significant for it. RIP.
