Not especially; I've read all the books, and I guess I'd like to know what happens, but at some point I just stopped being fanatic about it. I'll get around to reading it at some point I'm sure, most likely sooner or later, but no midnight releases for me.

Seeing as I had to check the topic to see what we were talking about.. not particularly. (Had you have said "this friday" instead of july 21, I'd have understood)

I read the first couple books, but I didn't like how it would take a year before I could read the next installment. One day when I take over the world and have my own private island I might read all 7. lol

I am. I have my copy reserved. I will be there at midnight. I will admit that I have been at the midnight releases for books 5 and 6 as well.

TOTALLY! I have my copy reserved and everything! It's funny because I was never really a big Harry Potter fan until I actually sat down and read the books, they are seriously amazing! JK Rowling is a great writer who truly engages her readers, creating a whole new world beyond our own - now that is incredible! Each book grabbing the reader more and more, becoming darker and emotional, wow! I am so excited!

I am excited, have my copy reserved, and am paranoiacally trying to avoid all spoilers. I have terrible luck with spoilers; with the last Harry Potter book I accidentally learned the ending beforehand. I even had Anna Karenina spoiled for me -- the ending was featured in a Jeopardy! question while I was in the middle of the book. I will be wearing headphones on Friday night.

It will be exciting, I'll be there at midnight, and I am really amazed and happy that a book release can still generate this much excitement.

I ordered my copy from England, so it won't arrive until the end of the month - I will not look at news or listen to the radio until then! After the third movie, I read the books, and they were awesome. They are the only books I have EVER reread. Rowling has a genius imagination. Can't wait!
