You can go back to any time in your life and bring a lawsuit against someone in your life, who would it be and for what desired result?

Sue a few doctors probably. One hospital also. Try for some money, and to take some of their time, and cause them a little worry. Mostly, I’d hope they treat patients in the future better, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I’m not much of the suing type though. I’ve only sued once, a vehicle accident, and it was because when I finally decided to do something the statute of limitations was almost over, so I had to file a suit to pursue any remedy. I was pretty distraught for weeks having to sue. I really didn’t want to do it.

What’s the point? The past is the past. Whatever the perceived issue was, it happened long ago. And I lived with the consequences of whatever it was for a long time. So why dig up old issues?

And then there’s the butterfly effect. Supposing you went back in time and sued someone. And lost the lawsuit. Think of all the things that would have changed as a result of that loss – you can’t imagine how your world would be different. Would you have gone into depression? Would you have committed suicide?

Or suppose you won the lawsuit? What are all the aspects of your life that would change as a result of that? It’s impossible to know all of the downstream effects of that action of reliving a piece of your life.

The one thing that would be for sure is that you would not be the you of today if you went back in time.

I’ve never had anyone commit an offense against me personally that was worthy of me suing, other than my ex wife. And that did go to court. To answer the question, No.

I was unfairly terminated from my job of 20 years, and although corporate reversed the firing and gave me my full retirement benefits, I later found out the firing was a pattern of long-term employees.

Had we known and banded together we might have gotten a huge settlement, as it was a multi-national corporation and what the locals were doing was legally wrong.

The psychologist who said that I needed a male role model when I was a child. Unfortunately they picked my father. They ripped me from my mom when I was 4 . I would sue for damages and emotional suffering.
