How do you stop a dog from whining all the time?

we have an oldish dog from the pound, she doesn,t bark but whines and keens a lot. We have had her about 3 years and still she complains. oh vey!.

Have you tried taking her to the vet? Maybe she has arthritis or some other disease. Also, does she eat often?

Are you giving your dog attention every time she whines? If so, you’re just enabling that behavior and reinforcing her belief that if she whines she’ll get what she wants…your attention.
