Are you a member of Yahoo! Answers?

Asked by NerdyKeith (5489points) February 17th, 2016

I’m still a very regular user on Yahoo Answers, however I dot think its going to last much longer. The sad fact is, it is only a matter of time before Marissa Mayer pulls the plug on Yahoo Answers. They are in serious financial debt. And Yahoo Answers is just not a key priority product for Yahoo.

Used to. I was driven away after a few days by the insane stupidity of the members. I asked a couple of questions and all I received were either troll answers or attacks. The other questions often didn’t have a better fate. There were also questions that werr intended to be chit-chat baits among some close members. I was so infuritated that I left. Before that I used Yahoo for emails and I’m convinced that the only thing Yahoo can offer is the email.

And I agree that Marissa Mayer is an ass. Yahoo was bad, and she made it worse. At least before she came Yahoo was acceptable. And I heard somewhere that she has to be paid some million dollars to leave. Not sure if it’s true though.

Nah. It’s been a cesspool of mediocrity for well over ten years.

Frankly , I’m utterly shocked Yahoo is still a thing.

Never was, never want to be. Their lack of standards was pretty appalling to me.

Welcome to Fluther, by the way! It’s good to see new people.

No, this is the only Q&A site I’ve ever participated on.

I used to have a Yahoo! account. I don’t think I ever participated in Yahoo! Answers except when Google brought me there, generally to find horrible-quality answers. Then my account got hacked. I restored it and used it for some stuff but Yahoo! was annoying so I stopped using it long enough for them to “expire” my account. I hate sites that expire accounts, and sites that are annoying, so not anymore.

I have a Yahoo account that I have used to answer questions on Y!A but haven’t been there for quite a while. The knowledge of the people asking the questions is just so low that I found it irresistible not to help the poor souls. People used to be so grateful for my common sense answers

I started my Q&A career on Yahoo Answers, but I left it. I do not recall exactly whey by now. I recall various problems on it.
