Do you like to change your looks often?

Asked by imrainmaker (8380points) March 22nd, 2016

This question is for guys mainly. Do you like to change your looks like with beard / without beard / trying out different styles? If so how often and why?

No. I find something that works and tend to stick to it. I change when I become so disgustingly out of fashion that it actually negatively affects the first impression I give people. For example, I went sailing in 2012 and didn’t get a haircut until about a month ago. Incredible transformation and the reactions I get from strangers are much more positive. Amazing how that works. I’ll not let that happen again.

I wanted to ask especially for guys because I think women have so many ways / options available…but sure you can let us know if you would like to see this in your partner?

People from grade school recognize me and I’m in my 50’s. I really need a new hairstyle!

Depends for how long I sleep in. Sometimes I forget to shave and my beard grows fast.

@Chyna – please do that asap..))

@reddeerguy1 – that won’t count as I guess..))

Beard?

Still a total non option. Must never come off as a a reprehensible scenester. Besides, why would I hide the fabulous complexion? Artisan bottled water? Fuh-Q. Ride your high wheeler away from me right now.

Perhaps I will try the Charles Darwin look when I’m properly old. Might even go for the bow tie and double breasted suit too.

Not particularly. I did just get a Mohawk last week, though. My friend is into cutting hair and wanted a challenge, and I thought it’d look interesting.

No. I have had a beard for 38 years. Why change now?

No. I have had a mustache since June 1975. I recently discussed shaving it with. My kids, and they are very opposed and say it would be traumatic.

When I was about thirty, I asked the young lady that had cut my hair for about five years if there was something she could do to change my look. She took a few minutes, checked from different angles, and finally said, “naaaah, you’re stuck like that”.

I’ve always been clean shaven. In recent years I’ve grown some stubble. Full beards don’t suit me, as they grow ginger and patchy; which I don’t think looks good with my brown hair.

I’ve also been growing out my hair long. So I’ve no problem trying out different styles.

I flip between clean shaven & a week of beard growth, more than stubble by then but by no means a full hairy mess that you could lose a badger in.
When I do let it grow a bit I sculpt it so it looks gromed & cut in, prefer clean shaven overall though.
