How can I make a site suggestion for Fluther?

Asked by Skunky (134points) March 27th, 2016

I think there should be a “recently answered questions” section or tab. it would make the site more fun, and better, thanks.

Any question you post, answer or visit will show any new activity in your feed. Nothing wrong with having a suggestion, but, quite frankly, the owners and operators here don’t change things based on request. The site originators are busy with other projects and the moderators are all volunteers.
You either accept things as they are or find another site more to your liking.

That said, welcome and I hope you hang around, always nice to have new members to liven things up.. :-)

Welcome to Fluther! We love new members and hope you stick around and ask many questions.

We already have that feature, if I’m understanding you correctly. Click on the question heading – “General”, for example, and you will see a “Filter” button right above the date. You can use that to look at all recently answered questions…just click on “Active”

Is that the kind of thing you are looking for?

P.S.: Welcome to Fluther. Hope you’re here to stay! The “Meta” tab is fine for making suggestions, by the way. Alternatively, you can use, “Contact the Mods”.

I wish they’d change the color scheme, but they just ignore me. :(

longgone's avatar

@Dutchess_III Yeah, yeah, we will definitely – oooh, look, what a pretty bird!!

Dutchess_III's avatar

LOL!! No, seriously! I think I was traumatized when I was little, in surroundings that had this ghastly blue green shade painted on somewhere! You must make them change it to make ME ME ME ME ME ME feel better! No one understands me. No one cares. Waaah.

^ But…didn’t you see the pretty bird??

Seriously, I love the color scheme. So much more peaceful than most of the internet!

Dutchess_III's avatar

I DID see the pretty bird. I just think that my thing is more important than your…..dragonfly!

^ That’s amazing. All those tiny hairs.

Welcome to Fluther.

Before you go wasting your time on any more “Fluther should have …” suggestions, don’t bother. The site has reached its pinnacle of development, unless, perhaps, some white knight comes along with a boatload of cash and makes Ben and Andrew an offer they can’t resist to sell it, and that person then decides to invest in upgrades to the server/s and programming to modify or improve the interface.

There is zero money being spent to “modernize” or “improve” the interface. What you see is what we’re left with … and damn lucky to have that.

I know @longgon. And the wings.

Once I was at a parade with my grandson when he was in 2nd grade. He was with his class actually, so I just sat beside him. Some Clydesdale came clopping along. All the kids were going “Ohhh! Ahhh!” and my grandson says, “Dragonfly!!” and pointed at a dragon fly hovering about. True story.

I like the greenish, marine-ish color.

Ditto @jca, especially with the maroony orange hints. Honestly, the theme draws me in. @Dutchess_III Try inverting the colors. Maybe you’ll like the fresh change. Inversion gives Fluther a deep-sea feel.

I don’t think it would make sense to make terrible suggestio…oh, you said site…do carry on.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Well, if I inverted the colors, would I still be seeing that horrible blue-green that makes me feel ill, @dxs?

Dutchess_III's avatar

So how do I do it?

dxs's avatar

On a Mac, it’s cntrl+alt+command+8. Not sure about un-Macs, but Google could probably answer that..

Dutchess_III's avatar

Ok, this is some weird shit!! I’m like, all, devil worshiper now!!

I think you’re just venturing in the Mariana Trench for the first time. If you get used to it, it’s actually pretty peaceful. And no ill-inducing blues and greens.
