What is your take on Digital Distribution and it expanding?

For those who don’t know, Digital Distribution is when certain types of media is “purchased” over the internet. The most popular so far is, of course, iTunes. Now other companies are following suit, like Comcast On Demand, where you can rent movies without leaving the couch. There is even speculation that the next generation of video game systems would run entirely off Digital Distribution.

Do you feel like this is the next step towards the future, or is Digital Distribution just making it easier for powerful corporations to screw its loyal customers?
