How was your experience filing taxes using Turbotax?

I have used it for years. Very easy to use and to follow.

This year was the first time I did my taxes on my own and I used TurboTax. Made it easy even for a newbie like me.

I used to use it, until they tried to prevent multiple family members from using the same purchase to file more than one form. Then I switched to H&R Block Tax Cut, and have not gone back.

They are both massively better than using paper forms, for me. And they’re about the same. Turbotax was a bit flashier and more expensive.

There are others that do about the same thing, too.

It works, I used tax act before because it was free but my taxes are more complicated now and I used turbotax

Very easy to use. Best of all, you can file more than one person’s return even though you only paid for the one program. I don’t know what the limit is, but this year I filed for 3 people on the one purchase.

@Dutchess_III Your answer contradicts what @Zaku said. Can anyone explain why the difference in their answers?

I’ve never used it, but I think that’s what my sister uses? What sounded really good about it is you could change numbers to see how it would affect your bottom line. That could be a big help in financial planning for the future.

I assume my accountant uses something like turbo tax. I figure most years I’m just paying him to fill in the numbers that I probably could do myself. Some years I really have tax items that I wouldn’t know what to do with, some years I don’t. Most years I don’t have any special loopholes or write offs I can use. I probably should really get more savvy with that stuff. I know people who make much more than us and pay less taxes.

I don’t know @2davidc8. Perhaps it was the version? Maybe previous versions didn’t allow it.

Just used it for the first time this year. It was pretty easy and very convenient, especially e-filing.
