What conspiracy theories do you believe in?

Asked by Rarebear (25192points) April 21st, 2016

This is an offshoot of a prior question that got off topic. A jelly said that “Conspiracy theories exist.”

So, what conspiracy theories exist? What do you believe in?

I think there is an army of cyberfreaks down at the NSA whose job it is to manufacture and propagate conspiracy theories across the net 24/7/365 to keep America confused and divided. It’s a classic psy-ops operation to keep the 99% politically impotent, depressed and self-defeating, thereby keeping the One Percent unmolested and in control.~

I believe that Bush jr. neglected reading all of his briefings , and accidently allowed the 9/11 disaster. So that he could make emergency withdrawals from social security funds.

I doubt Oswald killed Kennedy. I think Global warming is blown out of proportion for political and ideological reasons.

I believe the Republican party strategy, called the Southern Strategy, was a deliberate effort to attract racists whites to the party LBJ signed the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts.

I believe that vote suppression, aimed at minorities, has been a mainstay of GOP election strategy for decades.

Crazy talk, I know. If these things were true, they would be treated as common knowledge on network and cable TV.

Right?

I rarely believe in conspiracy theories. Most of the time they sound so biased and they all have the same formula: the government has a ultra evil scheme and ultra advanced technology to conduct their scheme. I begin to get bored hearing the same thing again and again.

That said, the moon exploration conspiracy sounds legit. That is one of the few conspiracy that doesn’t sound bullshit right on the start. Still I have my doubt though.

I’m pretty sure we shot down the Pennsylvania plane on 9/11. A friend with a high security clearance told us early in the day that we did then never spoke of it again.

Global warming is most definitely not blown out of proportion. The models have been conservative in their estimations of future impact. It’s something we should be positively panicking over.

Johnson had a hand in Kennedy’s death. I don’t believe Oswald acted alone but was a scapegoat while the actual killers slipped back into the shadows and that Ruby was hired to kill Oswald then later killed in prison.

Cheney and Rumsfeld were intimately involved in the attacks of 9/11 and yes, as @Judi says flight 93 was shot down. I also don’t believe it was a plane that hit the pentagon but a missile.

Bush did not win in Florida in 2000.

Electronic voting machines are hacked on a regular basis.

Jesus actually survived the crucifixion and was taken away by his uncle. He was also married to Mary Magdalene, a fact that was suppressed by the Christian church.

Trump is a Democratic Plant that has gone rogue.

Many of the allergies and illnesses these days are actually caused by human actions, some intentional, some accidental.

That Bush Jr. Specifically helped/allowed his oil friends, the Saudis, out of the US after 9/11. The Bush family was in the oil business even before being in politics.

Some Christian religious leaders in America purposely frighten their congregation that liberals and atheists are trying to squash Christianity so the frightened will be more loyal (money to the church) and more united (power) and more easily persuaded or brainwashed to believe any message put in front of them by the church. I am primarily talking about messages that get politicians elected and laws passed.

Many nations that voted for the creation of Israel did it with the hope it would result in the Jews leaving their own country.

@trolltoll I LOVE the lizard people conspiracy theory. It’s one of my favorites.
