What are your thoughts on this response by The Pagan Federation of Ireland to a homophobic and racist couple?
The Pagan Federation of Ireland offers Pagan hand-fasting ceremonies via a register of celebrants living throughout Ireland.
So anyway they received a message from an American couple describing themselves as Odinists:
“We are Odinists and would like an Odinist or similar minded clergy to marry us. We would prefer to find someone who only performs heterosexual ceremonies and refrains from marrying those of mixed races…”
Firstly I was not aware that there were many pagans with homophobic or racist attitudes. But I’m assuming this is an isolated case. Anyway I just have to love the response they received:
“We are most happy to report that none of our clergy subscribe to your views on mixed race or gay marriage, and so we cannot assist you in your upcoming visit to Ireland.”
“Fuck off.”
“Yours very sincerely, everyone at Pagan Federation Ireland.”

Thanks for sharing. Apparently, unless one is knowledgeable in the Odin religion, its branches, and its history, the couple’s request may seem like a one-off case. So I did a little digging on the Internet. Here is an article that sheds some insight, at least about the racist aspect.
Odinists? Wow. I didn’t know they had a religion for Odinism. They will all be blind soon anyway, so don’t worry about them. Ever notice how hairy the palms of their hands are? Gross. Who cares about Odinists anyway.
I’m trying to figure out how this works. Their churches for instance… I mean, you’d really have to be careful when you sit down in the pews. I wonder if the big donors get private booths?

Odinists think they are following some Northern European White Supremacist brand of paganism. In the old days we called them Nazis.

I read it as “Onanists” and thought “Wow, racist, homophobic wankers, They should have just told them to beat it”.
