Does she like us?

Asked by janbb (62855points) May 28th, 2016 from iPhone

Four of us friends were supposed to meet up at a country cabin for the weekend. The day before we were supposed to be leave, one friend claimed she had pulled her back and couldn’t come. Does she still like us or did she just want to stay home with her dogs, the buns and the chips?

More likely she is old and cranky, while you @janbb are still comparatively young and adventurous.

I have friends in their late forties who just seem to want to crawl under a rock until they die. What a waste of oxygen.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I think she still likes you very much. I think she genuinely injured herself and is probably licking her wounds, sans puppies, and wishing she was with you having fun.

johnpowell's avatar

I just got off the phone with your friend and it does appear that she in injured.

canidmajor's avatar

I think she is crabby and in pain, and would much rather be playing with her friends than watching stupid old World War Two movies.
And she sighs with despair. <sigh>

janbb's avatar

@canidmajor Awww….....we miss you.

canidmajor's avatar

Not as much as I miss you!!!
Picking up the pups tomorrow so I won’t be so lonely.

Did she stop you from having a good time? Did she need to be there? If you have a good time anyhow, why care what she does?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Did you starve? Why didn’t you call me? I would have come and brought dogs, buns and chips.

Love_my_doggie's avatar

Well, it’s entirely possible that she really did hurt her back! Accidents and maladies happen, often at inconvenient times.

You don’t provide many details, but I’m guessing you have some reason to believe she fibbed. Does this person frequently cancel at the last minute, sometimes with weak excuses?

Dutchess_III's avatar

This questions sounds suspiciously like one of those “What does this dream mean?” Or, “Does he like me?”

dammitjanetfromvegas's avatar

I think my husband is wondering if a group of women in a country cabin like him right now. :)

chyna's avatar

The answe is yes. There’s plenty of beer, so you all come join us.

canidmajor's avatar

Thinking some of you didn’t read through the thread. ;-)

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I’ll be right over. I’ll bring the Tim Tams.

janbb's avatar

@Earthbound_Misfit sounds great – what the hell are they?

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

@janbb, you have not lived until you’ve eaten Tim Tams. Ask @Hawaii_Jake. Really they are just chocolate biccies. Tim Tams. Do a search to see if there are any shops where you can buy them over there. I’ve still got a tin of Milo I’m supposed to be sending to the lady with the whip. If I’d known about your weekend away, I could have sent an Aussie care package. Well, if I got my act together and made it to the post office!

canidmajor's avatar

Me, too!!! Me, too!!!

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I’ll bring my massaging club thing. We can take turns to work on your back @canidmajor. And I’ll bring bulk supplies of Tim Tam and maybe some Fantails and definitely Milo.

marinelife's avatar

You are so in, @Earthbound_Misfit.

I am sure it was the idea of sharing the chips and wine.

canidmajor's avatar

And I’ll bet she has a fun accent as well!

Dutchess_III's avatar

omg…you have Milo in a tin @Earthbound_Misfit????

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

Yes and it doesn’t even have fur balls.

dappled_leaves's avatar

What I want to know is why the three of you who made it are Fluthering in a cabin, when you could be skinny-dipping, shooting tin cans, and getting smashed on Long Island iced teas.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I love Long Island iced teas.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

I’ve got the milk needed to drink while eating Tim Tams.

kritiper's avatar

Maybe she wanted to swing with some different cats. A ring-a-ding ding!

janbb's avatar

@dappled_leaves We were just taking a break from all the other activities!

dappled_leaves's avatar

Phew! I look forward to the home movies!

kritiper's avatar

Assume that this time she is telling the truth, You can doubt her if and when she does it again.

cookieman's avatar

I am so lost. I feel like this question isn’t to be taken at face value.

jca's avatar

@cookieman: It’s a joking question but it’s probably a real scenario.

For me, if a friend cancels and says she has a health issue, I usually will believe her or him unless she or he has a history of being untruthful.

janbb's avatar

@cookieman the story so far. Four Jelly friends were to have a country weekend together. One of the Jellies didn’t make it because she hurt her back. This was a teasing shout-out to her.

canidmajor's avatar

And she appreciates being remembered and teased in such a way!

Thanks, Little Penguin! The back’s a bit better today, still thinking of you guys!

Dutchess_III's avatar

I’m jealous. Sniff.

zenvelo's avatar

I stick by my original answer.

@canidmajor :-P

dammitjanetfromvegas's avatar

One of those jelly friends got my husband’s hopes up and told him they might all do a podcast with him Friday night. That would have been very entertaining! They had to decline because of crappy cabin internet connection.

cookieman's avatar

Ahh, I see now.

Hope y’all have fun.

canidmajor's avatar

Gosh, @Dutchess_III, you’re jealous because you can’t spend a weekend in a cabin with me? I’m touched. ;-)

Love_my_doggie's avatar

^^^ I’m jealous whenever Jellies get together but I’m not there. I know you talk about me behind my back, and nothing else. After all, I am the center of the universe and all that matters. Actually, that would be both matter and energy.

canidmajor's avatar

@Love_my_doggie: Why else would I be so sad to miss the weekend??? :-D

Dutchess_III's avatar

I have a feeling we would like each other IRL, @canidmajor! I really do. Plus I have some really juicy dirt on @Love_my_doggie.

Love_my_doggie's avatar

^^^ Yep, the lovely @Dutchess_III knows me and has the power to destroy me. Wheeee!
