Internet Broswer(s) are acting up, computer help? please?

Asked by LazyMe10 (515points) July 4th, 2016

I need computer help. All of my internet browsers go back & forth with working & then saying the server is lost. What can I do to fix this? My laptop has been updated to Windows 10 not too long ago so I honestly hope that isn’t it.
I was using Google Chrome, but it started there. So I used Internet Explorer, Opera, and Firefox. They work, I can search and find things but then all of a sudden it says the page is lost. But I’m still connected to the Internet! So I usually wait awhile, refresh the page, and then it comes back. It’s so weird…

How do,you know that you’re still connected to the Internet?

Are you using wifi or Ethernet?

What you’re describing sounds like spotty wifi.

@Buttonstc I checked my wifi on my computer and it says I’m connected. There’s nothing wrong with our router box at all

When it is acting up press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt.

Then enter: ping 8.8.8.8 and see if there is a response. When you say there is nothing wrong with your router I assume you have tried connecting from a different device when your computer has failed.

Follow the advice given by @johnpowell. He’s the real super duper computer genius here on Fluther.

I was just taking a guess. He actually knows what he’s doing :)
