A few new Jellies have asked recently and I’ve tried it can’t figure it out either.

Here is a quick screenshot.

When you’re in a question, and you see a topic you want to add, hover over it and you’ll see the “add topic” button pop up.

That’s for desktop. I have no idea how to do it on mobile.

There’s also a list of popular topics on the right side of the general, social, and meta sections. It’s right below the Community Feed section.

Are you using a mobile device? I can’t see a way to do it on my phone but it’s possible when I switch to Desktop view.

I did think that when you asked a question the topics were added but you have no topics despite asking a heap of questions. I’ll look into it some more

I asked a test question and added 2 topics. Neither were added to my topics. I clicked on one and added it so that bit works. I have 75 topics and have no memory of adding them all but maybe I did.

Can you try adding a topic while in Desktop view?

Still trying…..

If the hover-over isn’t working, try just clicking on the topic. It should take you to a page that filters all questions by the topic—with an option for you to “Add to Profile” (or “remove” if it’s already on your profile).

You can also reach the topic page via search. Search for the topic. Scroll past the usernames and the Google ads. Somewhere in the main results you should see “Fluther: [your topic].” That will take you to the same topic page, with the same “Add to Profile” option. (At least, that’s how the search works on my computer; others say just use a search engine… yep, searching “fluther: [your topic]” will bring up the topic page in the search engine. That’s probably easier.)

Additionally, on the right side bar on the homepage (and some other pages), there’s a “Popular topics” below the Community Feed. You can again hover-over or click the topic buttons there.
