Harry Potter pop quiz question?

Asked by Stinley (11525points) July 14th, 2016 from iPhone

I was doing a bit of sight seeing today and took a picture of a room that appeared in the Harry Potter films. Which two locations was this room used for in the films? You have to get both. And special points for knowing where I was.

This scene came to mind first, though the room looks way bigger in the movie scene than in your pic so I’m not sure.

Well done @Mariah. One down. Where else was it used? And where is it?

One of the chapels on the campus of Cambridge Univ.

@elbanditoroso are you guessing?

Is it also used for the Room of Requirement?

@Stinley – I have been to the library at Cambridge a couple times, and to one or two of the chapels. I don’t remember which ones.

Not a Cambridge chapel and not the Room of Requirement

I believe it was the exam hall when the Weasley boys loudly dropped out via charmed fireworks, and…. Gringott’s Bank?

It’s the divinity school in oxford university, not sure of the other scene shot there though

Philosophers stone. Hogwarts infirmary? Clip

I’m thinking that room was used as many rooms in Hogwarts.

• Dance practice
• Hospital Wing
• Bodleian Library/Divinity School, Oxford

Well done jellies. @Mariah got the dance room. @ucme and @stanleybmanly got the location. @Lightlyseared got the other room which is the hospital. @SavoirFaire sums it up nicely and @Seek is probably right about it being used in many scenes!

It was a great tour of the Bodleian Library. Definitely should be on your list of “must see” if you are in Oxford.

What assurances can you give us that this isn’t actually a homework question? ;-p

Or am I mistaken in my understanding that Hogwarts gives out academically certifiable degrees?

@stanleybmanly what can we expect from a mere muggle?

Whoops. I see that Hogwarts is for students aged 11–18, so maybe they don’t award degrees. Is there a university where one can learn advanced Witchcraft & Wizardry?
