Coffee lovers, do you like any unusual flavors in your coffee?

Asked by DrasticDreamer (23996points) July 31st, 2016

This is a question about specialty coffee, not just regular drip coffee. I know a couple of people who like raspberry in their coffee – I’ve tried it, and I guess I can see why. It’s not horrible, but I wouldn’t ever choose it for myself.

Do you like, or do you know anyone that likes, an unusual coffee flavor?

Hell no. Grounds and good water. That is coffee, when anything else is added it is a coffee based drink but no longer coffee.

I’m not a coffee drinker, but the coffee lovers I know hate that flavored stuff. My husband’s exception is when he has a “coffee” that’s basically dessert, like those very sweet with whipped cream and caramel drinks.

I know someone that puts coconut milk in her coffee and I think it’s gross.. Personally I like my coffee the old fashioned way with cream and a teaspoon of sugar, occasionally I will get a mocha or toffee coffee but as @ARE_you_kidding_me said, I don’t consider it to really be coffee but a coffee flavored drink. Now ice cream is another story, I have a coffee caramel ice cream in the frizzer right now and I have yet to open it, but I’m looking forward to trying it.

I like plain coffee with milk and sweetener. I have, in the past, had coffee with a bit of chocolate powder (like from chocolate milk). It was pretty good.

I’ve seen at the local bagel shop, blueberry coffee advertisements. It sounds absolutely disgusting.

For specialty coffee drinks:

Chocolate and coffee are a lovely combination. I enjoy a white chocolate mocha when I’m splurging. I do ask the barista for half what they would normally use, and get an extra shot of espresso.

Amaretto is good, too, but I’d rather have that in black coffee than a latte.

Most days, I prefer unsweetened almond milk to regular milk, and no sweetener. And occasionally some chocolate for a mocha. But never hazelnut or the fake vanilla cream, they both taste like chemicals to me.

Philz Coffee in the San Francisco Bay Area has many flavors of pour over coffee with spices, nuts , and flavorings. It is popular, but not quite my thing.

I’ve been wanting to try Irish butter in my coffee, but otherwise no. I like it strong and black.

No coffee is complete without a slight hint of blood.

I like my coffee like I like my men, Dark, Hot, Strong and Bitter. If they are Steaming Hot, I’ll cool it down with an ice cube or two.

Just good espresso with whole milk. No sugar. Usually iced.

Occasionally, I get in the mood for Hazelnut.

Sometimes I like a hint of cinnamon, but otherwise, no additives for me.

Now, hot and cold tea .. that’s something else.

Usually I like my coffee black or with just a little bit of sugar, sometimes though, I put in some sangria.

I’m a coffee lover, but I can definitely enjoy specialty drinks once in a while, especially if they’re iced (but never from Starbucks). I love my regular drip coffee, too, though.

Hazelnut flavoring, milk and sugar.
