ok for randy, aisyna, tinyfaery ,and loser, hedgehogs get along with most rodents even though there not rodents there insectivores. they are very nice once u get them tame which could take 2 months. yes they do make a mean sound and jump up trying to jab u but not cause there mean there scared, how would u like to be taken from everything u knew[and maybe the previous owner just breed from him] and then having this creature reach out at u. once tame and used to u they r very loving and dont ever try 2 jab or curl up in a ball from being scared.u can use pine or aspen shavings or even newspaper 4 their bedding and they can even be litter box trained.all they need in there cage is a solid or mesh wheel, a place to hide and sleep in, and of course food and water.u can get food at petco and it says hedgehog food on the can. there nocturnal so they sleep during they day but u can wake them up to play with just keep there play times at least 4 hours apart so they can sleep.i would suggest using gloves if u have an untame hedgehog, even though people say its harder to tame them this way sense there sense of smell is there strongest of there 5 senses but they just need to get used to being handled then u dont need gloves and if u dont were gloves they will stick u with there spines and it hurts i would know.ok sorry for writing such a long thing and sorry i didnt notice u write faery i was to busy writing but i hope ur rite. well this is all u realy need to know about a hedgehog if u got any additional questions just ask im here sometimes but not always so just keep checking here if i was gone when u wrote something ok

ktwizzle's avatar

oh and the price of a hedgehog can range from $50 to over $200 sometimes depends on the breed other times its the seller

ktwizzle's avatar

ok got somethin else to add sorry for writing so much but if u get a hedgehog that just stays curled in a ball never comes out its rare but means u have an aggressive hedgie or a rely scared 1 but thats not usually the case these hedgies could take a while to tame.and people that are allergic to other animals like cats it is like a 1 in a 1.000 chance that ur allergic to a hedgie but good be possible so make sure u know before buying 1 ok

ktwizzle's avatar

yea i spell kinda bad

osullivanbr's avatar

Jeez. Poor Astro.

@kt
“astrochuck if you got a problem leave” – Not a great way to start is it. Telling one of the collectives favorite and well known members to leave.

ktwizzle's avatar

Hey can You guys leave me ALONE PLEASE!!!!!! Every one keeps yelling at me cause I was spelling stuff like lol but i didnt know can you guys give me some slack I didnt know ok.

osullivanbr's avatar

Nobody has yelled at you. You are just coming across very high and mighty, and defensive at the same time.

arnbev959's avatar

This is all very strange.

ktwizzle's avatar

Well all I did on my other question was spell bad without knowing its like illegal or something here and gail goes and starts telling me to leave or something. Oh im sorry pete people keep yelling at me cause I spell bad but if you got a question just ask me ok.

ktwizzle's avatar

ok im sorry os. I didnt mean to yell at you ok but can everyone just not talk about it and forget it thanks.

tinyfaery's avatar

I don’t care about your spelling. In general, its not good to introduce yourself to a new group of people by being both aggressive and defensive. Take some time to look through the threads to find out what is expected, and how to express yourself. You can call people out and insult them once you have been here a little longer.

ktwizzle's avatar

Ok I was never being aggressive or mean yes I was being defensive a little but im sorry astrochuck I quess I took it the wrong way ok.

osullivanbr's avatar

Look, kt, a few of us have given you advice now please take it and let’s get on.

Now, story time.

I remember when I was a kid, about your age actually kt, a hedgehog came into my kitchen at home, and started wondering around. It’s really cool to have them so up close and personal. Cute little fella he was. Loved it when he rolled up in a little ball when we tried to touch his spikes. Speaking of which, I named him Spike. He only hung around for about an hour and headed on his merry way again.

ktwizzle's avatar

Well I was scared of mine a bit it will crawl over my arm but someone would always at the same time he was on my arm make a nose so he would curl up in a ball on my arm and it would hurt and it still happens sometimes.

ktwizzle's avatar

Well if you have ever had them curl up in a ball with your finger in the middle the spines almost go all the way through the fingers it realy realy realy hurts!!!!

syz's avatar

kt, please. Try a few commas and periods. It won’t hurt, I promise. And take another look at those guidelines for how the site works. Thanks.

ktwizzle's avatar

Um well ok but you do know I am 13 thats how most 13 year olds write but I will fix it.

syz's avatar

That is the worst excuse for an excuse that I’ve ever heard. Clearly, you are capable of reading. Grammar should not be that much of a stretch. Not bothering to write correctly is merely laziness.

ktwizzle's avatar

syz are you just this old bitty who likes being a dick.

syz's avatar

Ah, now I truly believe that you are 13. (And it’s “biddy”.)

AstroChuck's avatar

kt- Lighten up. Just joking.
Couldn’t have a hedgehog even if I wanted as they are illegal here in California, along with ferrets and gerbils.

tinyfaery's avatar

Gerbils are illegal? They sell them in pet stores.

AstroChuck's avatar

Not legally. Because gerbils and ferrets are burrowing animals they are banned. The rationale for this is to protect California’s many levies.
Years ago, when my two oldest daughters were teens, my mother “smuggled” a gerbil in from Nevada. Unfortunately, one of our cats was rigid about law enforcement, and the one time the cage door wasn’t secure she exercised her commitment to state law.

tinyfaery's avatar

Huh. Interesting.

ktwizzle's avatar

Well seeing im back everything should go back to chaos, write after I type this someone will say something to me I bet. Im sorry to everyone I yelled at and hope you exept my apoligy. Ok enough of that lets start talking about uh well something?

loser's avatar

How about not.
